About the roles
GEO Healthcare provides primary healthcare to men in Public Prisons across Victoria. The role of Pharmacy Technicians at GEO Healthcare is to assist, within their scope of practice, with the management of medications. This includes assisting in the preparation for medication administration rounds, administering of prescribed medication, assisting in the management of medication inventory and ordering medication and other pharmaceuticals under supervision.
Opportunities exist for Full Time, Part Time and Causal Pharmacy Technician: Salary $68k +Super for Full Time, pro rata for Part Time and a Casual rate of $41 per hour.

Qualifications and Experience: (one of the below)

Certificate III in Health (Hospital Pharmacy Technician or Community Pharmacy) course or equivalent as approved by the Pharmacy Board of Australia.

“Assist Clients with Medication” course as part of a Certificate III or Certificate IV in Health Care (e.g. Nursing Assistant).

Successful completion of medication related courses as part of an undergraduate degree in Nursing or Pharmacy.
The ideal candidate will have:

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational and attention to detail skills.
- Ability to work within teams and collaboratively across teams.
- Strong computer and information technology skills.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and education.
Other Requirements of the role:
- Completion of a dispensary assistant module will be highly regarded
- Medication Administration/Pharmacy Tech
- Valid Australian driver’s licence.
- Ability to work within a prison setting, which will involve direct contact with people in prison associated with the delivery of healthcare.
- Satisfactory completion of a National Criminal History Check.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- Working outside of ordinary business hours may be required.
