Radiographer

Part-time (2 days per fortnight) Radiographer Role, working at the brand new Western Plains Correctional Centre, Lara VIC.

Attractive salary of $24,423.36 per annum + Super. 

About the role

The Radiographer will assist GEO Healthcare Senior / Medical Practitioners to diagnose and monitor patients experiencing (or who may be experiencing) various medical conditions and diseases and is responsible for taking and processing general x-rays and digital OPG (orthopantomography):

The Radiographer will work to their full scope of clinical practices in the provision of radiography services, in accordance with GEO Healthcare policies and procedures, legislative and contractual requirements, including the Justice Health Quality Framework and the correctional facility’s local operating procedures.

An opportunity exists for a part-time Radiographer working 2 days per fortnight.

Skills and Experience:

The ideal candidates will have:

• AHPRA registration
• AIR accreditation
• Experience with Digital OPG
• Current EPA License to Use
• Documented evidence of appropriate medical indemnity insurance ($10 million coverage)
• A minimum of 2 years post-graduate experience
• High standard of written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team
• Demonstrated competence in provision of high-quality care
• Willingness to undertake regular professional development relevant to the position
• Computer skills including use of internet and email

Other Requirements of the role:

• Valid and current full Australian driver’s licence. 
• Ability to work within a correctional setting, which will involve direct contact with people in prison associated with the delivery of healthcare. 
• Satisfactory completion of a National Criminal History Check.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
